Lygiai prieš metus „TeliaSonera“ pristatė pirmuosius pasaulyje 4G tinklus Švedijoje ir Norvegijoje, o neseniai – ir pirmuosius 4G tinklus Suomijoje bei Danijoje.

Pirmąjį ketvirtos kartos ryšio gimtadienį pirmaujanti pasaulyje 4G operatorė „TeliaSonera“ pasitinka teikdama 4G komercines paslaugas 4 šalyse bei dar 4 šalyse, įskaitant Lietuvą, atlikdama 4G ryšio bandymus, belaukiant licencijų. Pirmieji 4G vartotojai naudojasi didesnėmis duomenų perdavimo galimybėmis, kurias jiems suteikia naujasis ketvirtos kartos tinklas.

„Didžiuojamės, kad mes pirmieji pasaulyje pernai pristatėme 4G, ir džiaugiamės 4G plėtros tempais šiais metais. Paslaugos realiuoju laiku tampa neatsiejama mobiliojo ryšio vartojimo dalimi, drauge didėja vartotojų lūkesčiai dėl fiksuotųjų tinklų namuose bei biuruose. „TeliaSonera“ ir toliau teiks geriausią interneto prieigą, derindama mobiliąsias ir fiksuotąsias plačiajuosčio interneto paslaugas“, – sakė „TeliaSonera“ Mobiliųjų paslaugų padalinio prezidentas Håkanas Dahlströmas.

Nuo 2005 metų „TeliaSonera“ mobiliųjų duomenų perdavimas išaugo dešimt kartų ir auga toliau. Neseniai atliktos apklausos metu pirmieji „TeliaSonera“ 4G vartotojai minėjo pasikeitusius savo duomenų perdavimo naudojimo įpročius. Maždaug 23 proc. daugiau vartotojų žiūri internetinę televiziją, 28 proc. daugiau vartotojų klausosi internetinio radijo ir naudojasi muzikinėmis paslaugomis, tokiomis kaip „Spotify“. Tyrimas taip pat atskleidė, kad pasikeitė ir naudojimasis interneto paslaugomis; pavyzdžiui, daugiau kaip 46 proc. vartotojų dažniau naršo internete ne namuose, o 12 proc. vartotojų dažniau žaidžia žaidimus realiuoju laiku.

2009 metų gruodžio 14 dieną „TeliaSonera“ pirmoji pasaulyje įrengė 4G tinklus ir pradėjo teikti komercines 4G paslaugas Stokholme ir Osle. Šio mėnesio pabaigoje 4G tinklai jau veiks 28 Švedijos miestuose ir slidinėjimo kurortuose bei 5 Norvegijos miestuose.

Šiais metais „TeliaSonera“ pirmoji Danijoje pradėjo teikti 4G paslaugas Kopenhagoje,  Orhuse, Odensėje ir Alborge gruodžio 9 dieną, bei pirmoji Suomijoje, Helsinkio ir Turku miestuose – lapkričio 30 dieną.

„Omnitel“, „TeliaSonera“ grupės narė, šių metų gegužės 12 dieną pirmoji pradėjo 4G ryšio bandymus Lietuvoje ir šiuo metu atlieka juos 5 Lietuvos miestuose – Vilniuje, Kaune, Klaipėdoje, Šiauliuose ir Panevėžyje. 4G ryšio bandymai taip pat atliekami „TeliaSonera“ grupės tinkluose Estijoje, Latvijoje ir Uzbekistane.

Remiantis http://ltemaps.org, komerciniai 4G tinklai šiuo metu veikia dešimtyje šalių: Švedijoje, Norvegijoje, Suomijoje, Danijoje, Vokietijoje, Austrijoje, Lenkijoje, Uzbekistane, Honkonge ir Jungtinėse Amerikos Valstijose.
